一日不去瞅他博客,草原的女婿同志就自发地为本人写了一陀公关稿,偶一激动,就把它封为本人暂别广州的首席悼文。

六年求学之行装变迁

周五就要滚去香港了,不得不开始打点行装。

增补1:嗓子药――我的嗓子于2003年下半年某次新生宣讲会时遭受破坏性损害,时不时就痛一痛,嗓子药有必要带几种。至于六年前带的其他药物,现在仍然一样也不能少。创口贴,以前带的几乎没怎样用到,不过我的平衡能力和记忆力最近出现缘由不明的衰退迹象,有很大的可能性会两次踏进同一条河流(臭水沟?),相信这次会派上用场。

增补2:指南针――临行前胡斐大侠送的礼物。粗犷的造型,结实的结构。适合指引方向、耍酷扮野、观测风水、打架防身……特封为镇舍之宝。另:贝贝送的彩色铅笔我已供奉在我的画框下,一对银色翅膀小勺正待启用。

增补3:电吹风――六年前我的头发短得跟准噶尔盆地的普氏野马似的,六年后我已经退化成“家马”一匹。

增补4:手电筒――六年前的那个校园是一个巨大的实验性灯光工程,入夜,亚洲第一长的教学大楼仿佛一根史上最大的日光灯管,唯一的一次全校性停电则引发了波澜壮阔的万人游行。现在呢,我上课的地方在山上,上课的时间在晚上,上完课要回的地方地处深山老林,我连整一探照灯的心都有了哇。

增补5:“大量”MONEY――忽略汇率变动,学费刚好是大一的8倍。

变化1:台式机变笔记本――不变的是配置始终处于淘汰的边缘。另,经Google&百度,我申明“半机不遂”一词乃本人与本人的电脑的共同原创。

变化2:胶片机变数码单反――与此同步的是我也许还得增补一台移动硬盘以应付洪水一般的数码照片。

变化3:炭笔颜料变数位板――带上数位板是贝贝的嘱托,此外也是鄙人将延续时间远超六年的某个模糊的奢望继续延续下去的必然升级。

删除1:饭盒――据初步观测,中文大学Cafe使用的盘子比我洗的饭盒要干净。

删除2:小提琴――据初步观测,中文大学没有管弦乐团。

删除3:篮球――据初步观测,我未来一年的体育运动将是爬山和站地铁。

向《鲁豫有约》上的《新周刊》同事们问好

昨儿是《新周刊》十周年生日。凌晨的时候凤凰卫视播《鲁豫有约》的《新周刊》专访,由于老爸长期以来不知我昼伏夜出从事的到底是什么BT工作,遂将他拍醒来瞅一瞅。

老爷子还是那样“健旺”:)不过我今儿才从电视上发现他的双眼皮超像如来佛,要是把他的光头粘满栗子,那就是菩萨再世。

封总是主角,但最惹人瞩目的是他那双匡威帆布鞋。我们杂志是匡威赞助的,真的…… :P

周老师的鞋子真白,帽子真破,表情真严肃,发言真“老师”。一点都不HIGH――而没见识过周老师的HIGH,对咱《新周刊》的任何观点看法情感情结全都TM是只知其表的盲目崇拜――崇拜要有的放SHI!欢迎大家请周老师唱K。

镜头不断扫台下,我见到涛涛了,还有赳赳同学和巴格纳。我还多次见到了整天嚷着想俺的多多他娘。多多他娘在节目结尾的时候非常有现场感的给出了泪汪汪的双眼和迫不及待的掌声――而我想,这家伙最近一直不舒服,录影时间这么长,是不是给憋的?

节目不断有广告插进来,俺对同事们的平面鉴赏不断被打断。我觉着,现在如果插播一个“喂~~~~~你好吗~~~~~”的四大叔广告,是非常能够表达此时我对诸位同事的心情的,可惜人家不投这个时间段。

末了老爷子提到何树的一句话――“……任何离开《新周刊》的人,都带着《新周刊》的DNA……”。我问我爹妈,你说我有《新周刊》的DNA吗?他们已经睡了――不过,我想他们也许会答:你这歪瓜劣枣的小破孩连我们的优秀基因都没好好发扬光大还《新周刊》DNA呢快滚去睡觉去再不睡基因更加变异……

――爹妈为了让我好好睡觉,绞尽脑汁,惮精竭虑,威逼利诱,连哄带骗。

――《新周刊》的诸位新老无产阶级革命战士在做稿子想选题的时候也是。

好消息&坏消息

坏消息:
我的Flashget,Dreamweaver,Flash……全部不能启动。

好消息:
折腾了一晚我找到了解决办法。

坏消息:
它们还是不能直接启动。

好消息:
启动Flashget的方法是打开IE,启动Dreamweaver的方法是右键单击某本地网页选择“用Dreamweaver编辑”,启动Flash的方法是双击某本地.fla文件。

坏消息:
IE的首页被以前在杂志社被人装的什么“绿鹰××PC精灵”给搞得乱七八糟,经Google&百度属于无法修复只能重装的破坏性损害(欢迎勘误)。

好消息:
至少我还能重装。

坏消息:
电脑好破啊,整天要重装。

好消息:
据传堂哥要送我一台PSP。

坏消息:
经鉴定这台PSP被堂妹不小心升级到了2.7。

好消息:
反正我也没时间玩……

花花肠子VS群众的眼睛

TO 伪装成粉丝经鉴定暴露身份却又困惑不已的某人:

就你那点花花肠子,不用看都穿了,所以我俩关系之熟,只能用“肠穿肚烂”来形容。

上帝同学一路顺利

上帝同学一周后回加拿大。

虽然她已经改名叫嘉明,我还是中意叫她上帝,她中意喊我蚯蚓――和虫仔有异曲同工之意。

虽然她喜欢的是艺术,我还是祝愿她在那个奇怪的机器人专业继续稳居年级前三,保持中国人不拿A-以下的良好记录。

虽然她学的是奇怪的机器人专业,我还是祝愿她的设计公司早日在多伦多开张,我好过去扫地。

虽然她对某同学颇有微辞,我还是祝愿这位不讨上帝同学喜欢的同学早日跳槽成功,成为新加坡航空公司的空姐。

《百年树人》之熊猫公关稿

熊猫何许人也:新概念作文一等奖,中山大学中文系蛋肠级……哦,现在是06的中文硕士了。脑袋的形状很像学位帽:P 因为一篇《我和父亲的战争》上了《实话实说》,据说很郁闷。

个人判断:猛人。关系鉴定:互相看过对方的比赛……

关于青春、仰视和理想主义

――狗仔

――纪念我充斥着暗示,迷乱,焦躁与突围的十九岁,顺带为过去的大一生活作一个不甚清晰的脚注。

    还清楚地记得上一个炎热的九月,我穿着中学阶段从没有尝试过的小裙子,脚上登一双运动鞋,大汗淋漓地站在那据说是全亚洲最长的教学楼底下喘气。和周围来来往往的同龄人一样,不可言喻的兴奋、莫名的慌乱和陌生感带来的压迫使我呼吸急促面色潮红,手里紧紧攥着的新生报道表已经被濡湿了。抬起头,目光尽头是灿烂的夕照,丝毫没有没落的意思。

    我想我的大学生活真的那么没心没肺的开始了。

    和熊猫认识并不是偶然。当时他没有发胖,头发很短并且呈被砖拍过的正方形。他在饭堂里对着我侃侃而谈。他的尖锐和直接更像是一种生理反应而不是一种思维和表达的习惯,他的不多的手势也很有力度。下午的饭堂很拥挤,越过他的肩膀我看到来来往往的人,他们成了他的背景。当这顿几乎没有我参与的谈话结束时,我毫无由来地感到一种晕眩。

    和他熟起来便不得不说是一种机缘巧合了。他对于那时的我–一个严格意义上的准大学生来说是富于吸引力的。这吸引力和暧昧无关,他有一种介于严肃和幽默之间的气质。虽然他否认自己是个愤青,但在我眼里那种总把自己至于置疑和反对位置的战斗姿势就是一种年轻的血脉张宏,骨子里的文人清高–这种清高我不曾具有。他用戏谑的口吻讲述他珍视的一切,当这种戏谑上升为一种揶揄时,我着实为这种自视甚高的抒情方式所感染。不,也许只是那种跃跃然企图颠覆与解构的言说方式吸引了我。至少在当时,我深信独特的表达一定是思想勃发的外化形式,不管内容是否深刻。

    我不知道。熊猫在公众场合获得的大相径庭的两面评价无疑为他在我心中的角色定位上添了不可忽视的一笔:他时而被描述成一名见解独到思想深邃的才俊,时而又成了枉自尊大的酸腐文人。竟然真不存在第三种起码看似中性的评价。那时我只能猜想这种极端也是他扮演自我的一种方式。他以战斗的姿态捍卫着自己的坚持。可大概连他自己也不清楚这坚持究竟是什么。

    一段时间里我们热衷于聚会。我们习惯于举起杯盏,放肆的说:“来,干杯。”那时我不喝啤酒,而其他人毫不含糊地将这浮着泡沫的液体一饮而尽。熊猫永远是这类聚会的核心,他大笑,也使别人大笑。但我总认为这笑声和啤酒一样回味苦涩。在又一个酒足饭饱的午夜,我们脸颊绯红,结伴游荡在校道上,我和熊猫大声背诵着海子的“我要做远方忠诚的儿子和物质短暂的情人”。那时月光很清澈,我们踩着十二月的棕榈树的影子和自己的声音向前走。夜风吹过来,这一场以青春为名义的舞会在理想主义借由酒精膨胀而最终又在现实中醒来的感伤里仓惶散场。

    是的,理想主义。大多数时候他说,我听。或者他们说,我听。熊猫的声音永远高亢,他呼喊,却鲜有人应喝。他期待的那种充满人文关怀和英雄主义的激情在南方以南的这片土地上永远只存在于历史的回眸中,而在新千年的今天早已在暴烈的阳光,喧闹的人声和燥热的空气中蒸腾一空。这是事实。面对事实,熊猫以一贯的鄙视权威和冷嘲热讽作为武器。他成了物质世界中的又一个唐吉诃德,举着长矛向眼中的世俗巨人挑战,却被功利主义的风车伤得体无完肤。他渴望论战,一种虔诚或者至少严肃的观点的阐发和探讨,可是响应他的看似叫嚣或者实际上就是叫嚣的言论的却是一片难堪的沉默。沉默掩盖了一片灰色,灰色又掩盖了没有激情的个体们,不管他们是对此没有兴趣,没有激情,还是没有想法。这种无人应战的尴尬深深地伤害了他。现实把他骑士般的骄傲的尊严活生生地吞下去,连骨头也不吐一根。至此,熊猫所有寻常意义上的对尘世的平庸与模式化的抗争都在南墙上撞得粉碎。作为一个具有理想主义情结的人,熊猫自导自演着他心中的标准的理想主义者:背着渐死的伤痕累累的追求,永远为一种人文情绪呼号着。也正是因为这种理想主义情结,至少在我眼中,他在茫然中选择扛着自己生满了锈的光荣和痛苦踉跄向前。也许,我只说也许――他比谁都清楚,自己不过也是芸芸众生中的一员,迟早会像他所不屑的那样如同一条狗一般奔波着讨生活,在生命中无数个黑夜与白天,也许连一道浅浅的痕迹也划不出。可他骨子里清高的舍我其谁的责任感又让他总用一种高人一等的审视的目光来打量世界,直到无数个不妥协汇成不可遁逃的巨浪,他又只能像被波浪冲上岸的鱼一般无力地扇合着嘴唇。这矛盾是理想主义走不出的悖论,他注定不能活得轻松一些。

    我不是诗人,不以文字来换取心性上的救赎,也不把对反叛的反叛作为彰显自我的标签,我天生就没有流浪者的基因。如果可以的话,我更乐于说自己是个温情的现实主义者。现实的淡漠和理想主义情节是多么的格格不入,可这一切并不妨碍我把熊猫自封的唐吉诃德式的受难者的殉道看作一种精神标高。我虔诚的仰望他,我的确让自己虔诚起来。因为我突然固执的认为在这青黄不接的年纪里,我需要去纯粹的崇拜(我大概可以说那是一种崇拜吧)一个人,一种标志。这种诉求是否源于一种面对真实时找不着方向的焦灼已不可考证。可在那以后,我却在一种含有挫败意义的比较和排斥意味的认同的反复碰撞的基础上,得到了来自自己灵魂深处的承认。这当然是后话。

    承认是一种突围。可这是在一种怎样的反思中成长起来的?我其实早已明白自己造了一个神,一个供我仰视的神,可只要我继续崇拜,我就不必探询,不必面对,不必给茫远的或迫近的自己打下一个清晰的注释,只要我继续崇拜,这心灵的依赖感便不会让我在陌生的无法认知面前感到无所适从。在清醒中继续自我暗示的感觉并不美好,尤其是充当着一个怯懦的矮子的时候。而当我终于敢于正视自己曾掩饰与试图忘却的内心的平凡,羸弱和空洞时,我的确长大了,然而那个曾经的偶像,也在信仰装饰落幕时不可挽回地破损掉了。从此我不必再依赖于别人给予的反馈来建构自己,但同样,我的无忧的时代也堂而皇之的过去,我听到了自己骨骼里发出的断裂声。

    神话不再是一个神话。神话永远只是一个神话。原来熊猫说的没错:成长只能是痛苦的。
    
    我写下的,是也只可能是我眼中的熊猫。不知道他现在在一个更纷扰的环境里过得如何?不管怎样,愿他心灵健康的活着:不沉湎于过去,而且对明天总是充满希望。

COM5940 New Media Entrepreneurship 3

This is an introductory course to the creative and technical aspects of interactive media technology. Concepts include user interface design theories, the architecture of multimedia, digital video, producing and designing for interactive TV/cinema/CD/online, the multimedia development cycle and the applications of multimedia. (For M.Sc. students only.)

COM5942 New Communication Technologies: Trends and Impacts 3

This course is designed to examine varying theoretical perspectives related to the future trends and current uses and impacts of information technologies and services. The course provides a foundation from which students can conceptualize the factors that lead people to use communication technologies, the needs that these technologies fulfill, and the effects of such use on individuals, organizations and society.

COM5950 New Media Product Development 3

This course focuses on how to conceive and create interactive information and entertainment multimedia content for the Internet. The major emphasis of this course will be on interactive thinking and advanced multimedia production technique and other skills. (For M.Sc. students only.) Pre-Requisite: COM5940

COM5980 New MediaEcology 3

This course introduces students to the role of content flow and value chain model in the information industry. It covers various topics such as content creation, selling, distribution, syndication, consumption, content economics, business models, related technology and copyright protection issues faced by different information industries in the new media ecology.

COM5990 New Media Finance 3

The course studies the methodologies for sizing and budgeting New Media projects, as well as estimating the operating costs and other on-going costs for sustaining New Media services. It describes techniques for evaluating the feasibility of a project and measuring its return on investment. The course also exposes the student to other important aspects of financial management, such as breakeven analysis, cash flow projection and asset valuation. Finally, the course introduces the students to different ways and sources of project funding.

COM6940 Creative Technologies: Design and Management 3

This is an advanced and intensive course to the theory, principles and practice of interactive technologies. Design principles of aesthetics, harmony, respect, creativity, emotion and mindfulness will be explored. General topics include: design process, user perspective, information representations, interaction methods and usability studies. (For M.Sc. students.)

COM3711 Script Writing 3

Introduction to and workshop in dramatic writing and to the many forms which writing for the screen may take. The course focuses on narrative structure, theme, plot, characters and dialogue in scenes and sequences, development of outline and treatment for screenplay, and marriage of images and sound.

COM3933 Music Industry, Production and Marketing 3

The course introduces Hong Kong popular music and the basic operations of the music industry. It covers a wide range of practical operation of record companies, including Artist and Repertoire Management, production of music and lyrics, marketing and sales, promotion and distribution. Besides the practical and management aspects, it also covers history and issues of popular music in Hong Kong, music commentary and the board theoretical, legal and social implications of the industry.

COM3940 Multimedia and Digital Entertainment Design 3

This advanced course is designed to introduce students to the theory, principles and practice of interactive multimedia technologies. The course provides an overview of leading theorists of interface design, and teaches advanced applied human-computer interface and information representations. General topics include design process, design principles of aesthetics, user perspective, user interface history and trends, interaction methods and usability studies.

COM3943 New Media Arts 3

This course introduces the basic elements of video aesthetics and the works of major video artists. The aims of the course are to appreciate new media arts in personal, social and cultural levels, to look into the links between mainstream media, advertisements and commercial design and everyday life, and to assist the students to create their own digital video production.

COM3951, 3952 Special Topic in Multimedia and Telecommunications I, II 3 each

The instructor will lecture on and direct the study of a topic in multimedia and telecommunications that he or she specializes in. Students are allowed to take the above Special Topic courses for more than once, and gain the units each time they pass the course. However, students cannot take courses with the same course code more than once in a single term.

COM3963 Entertainment Business 3

The course aims at teaching students how to manage projects related to media entertainment businesses, including production of multimedia performance, stage performance, showbiz, concert, music, commercials, movies and dramas in different media. The course covers the management, financial as well as operational flow in different entertainment businesses and organizations.

COM4848 New Media Advertising 3

This course examines new media as an evolving advertising medium. The emphasis is on understanding the technologies and theories of new media advertising. The course has been developed to guide students through the process of conceiving, executing and evaluating new media advertising and to achieve an understanding of the subject from practical and theoretical perspectives.

COM4956 Fundamentals of Computer Animation 3

This course is an animation practicum which builds upon the most current and advanced technical skills in animation production for television and film. In this intensive workshop students will have the opportunity to work with high-end software which currently is used by professionals working with computer graphics in animation. The course covers the entire animation process including modeling, lighting, shading, animation, and rendering. Student will be trained both to conceptualize and execute animation projects.

COM5120 Globalization and Communication 3

Analysis of national or cultural patterns of communication and media system. Emphasis will be given to factors facilitating or restricting the flow of information across national or cultural borders as well as their implications for planned social change.

COM5430 Strategic Analysis of Media Industries 3

This course investigates the formulation and development of goals and strategies for media industries engaged in the production, distribution, promotion and storage of information, and entertainment. It also introduces concepts, techniques and models related to strategic analysis and development. Economic forces that shape media industries are also examined.

COM5510 Media Management 3

This courses aims to acquaint students with general management principles, concepts and theories, with particular emphasis on their applications in media organizations in a commercial, competitive and rapidly changing environment. The focus is on training future media managers’ problem-solving and decision-making skills. The communications industries covered will include the print media, radio, broadcast, cable television, advertising and public relations. The students will learn through a combination of lectures, seminars and case studies.

COM5515Media Economics 3

Media economics has been gaining importance as one of the major subdisciplines in communication research. Media economics involves the application of key economic principles to the study of media industries. Special attention will be given to the structure, behavior and performance of media industries; audience behaviors and preferences; policy and regulation; and the impact of new technologies. This seminar will cover the economics of print, television, Internet and other consumer media. Students are expected to develop an economic view of the role, function and strategies of the media in the global marketplace.

COM5620 Media Ethics and Law 3

This course attempts to examine two essential confines of mass media communication, namely, the legal limits and ethical constraints. It covers major media laws and ethical issues that are related to the operation and practices of media organizations and practitioners. (For M.A. students only.)

COM5948 Telecommunications Policy 3

The course introduces the basic concepts and development of telecommunications and the related regulatory issues. Emphasis is placed on the policy-making considerations. A survey of the experiences of developed industrial nations is undertaken. Reference is also made on Hong Kong and mainland China telecommunication development and their policy issues. After taking this course, students are expected to be familiar with the major issues involved in telecommunications policy-making.

COM5961, 5962 Topical Studies in New Media I, II 3 each

COM6510 Contemporary Issuesin Communication 3

This course provides an in-depth examination of the current and emerging issues in mass communication that have social, cultural, ethical, industrial and policy implications. It is designed to familiarize students with the perspectives on, and approaches to, mass communication as an industry and a profession. The assigned readings will be sourced from both the scholarly and industry literatures. In addition to lectures, class discussions involving the students will be an important component of the course.

COM6950 Directed Study in New Media Project 3

This is an interactive group workshop for students to produce advanced interactive multimedia as their graduation projects. (For M.Sc. students only.) Pre-Requisite: COM6940
